*ROV's LEDs will turn turquoise once in an active time lapse. This lets you know you can shut off the phone's screen, place it in your pocket & rest easy as your time lapse continues.
Exposures under 1 second, you will need to manually set in your camera. For exposures over 1 second, you can use the app to control your shutter speed.

*A shutter release cable is required for time lapse
Android

When filming with a phone

If you want to use your phone to capture video in the Android app, you will need to start a move in RŌV Motion and switch to a third party video recording app to start filming.
Live Motion Settings
- Position - what end of the slider the move starts from
-
Duration - how long it takes for the carriage to go from one end to the other
-
Ramp - start and end the movement gradually to avoid abrupt starts and finishes.
-
Looping - repeat the move created, over and over.
-
Preview - performs the move once for an example

Time Lapse: You will need a second Android with a third party app that has a time lapse feature. This phone will mount to ROV.  The other phone will be used as a remote to control your sliders movement via the ROV Motion app. You will need to match the shutter speed, duration, and clip length settings of the third party app with ROV Motion's time lapse settings that you choose. When you are ready to begin recording, you will need to simultaneously press start on both phones.

Bluetooth Information
  • Bluetooth is rated at 80 yards.
  • When recording with a cell phone: Any live video or time lapse will stop when disconnected from Bluetooth or if the app is closed.
  • When using a DSLR: Any live video will stop if disconnected from Bluetooth or if app is closed. A time lapse will continue if Bluetooth is disconnected or if app is closed.
