High Speed & High Torque Motors
Stepper motors have limitations on speed vs. torque, mostly in regards to motor noise. To reduce noise, maintain current speeds, and increase torque we designed two motors with different gear ratios.
High Speed Motor
Recommended for all around general use. Interviews, B-Roll, Video, Time-lapse, etc.
Dimensions
4.25" x 3" x 3.25" (10.8 cm x 7.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
Weight
1 bs 8 oz (0.68 kg)
Maximum Speed
5" per second (12.7 cm/sec)
Load Capacity
- 15 lbs horizontally (6.8 kg)
- 5 lbs at a 20° incline (2.3 kg)
* Excludes the weight of Arc II
- 5 lbs at a 20° incline (2.3 kg)
* Excludes the weight of Arc II
High Torque Motor
Recommended for inclined shots and Time-lapse
Dimensions
4.25" x 3" x 3.25" (10.8 cm x 7.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
Weight
1.5 lbs (0.68 kg)
Maximum Speed
1" per second (2.5 cm)
Load Capacity
- 15 lbs horizontally (6.8 kg)
- 10 lbs at a 45° incline (4.5 kg)
- 5 lbs vertically (2.3 kg)
* Excludes the weight of Arc II

- 5 lbs vertically (2.3 kg)
* Excludes the weight of Arc II
Compatibility
The High Torque motor is NOT compatible with the EVO Motion controller. Due to the motor driver in the EVO controller hardware, we are unable to run the gear-reduced high torque motor at a sufficient speed and noise level to be compatible. This motor is compatible with Arc II only.
