Jittery Footage

Is your footage not as smooth as it should be? Below are some symptoms and troubleshooting steps. If the issue persists, reach out to us for additional support.

If shooting macro, a high torque motor is recommended as it is slower and shows smoother results for these types of shots. For super macro shots, the steps in the motor may be picked up. This is not able to be fixed, however it can be easily edited in post processing.

Symptoms:

  • Jittery movement along linear axis.

Possible Solutions:

  1. Confirm Arc II is up to date with latest firmware.
  2. Check that the total weight of gear being used is within recommended load capacity.
  3. Remove motor from slider and perform hand slide.
    1. If jitter continues, remove belt and retest. Inspect belt for any missing teeth or bends.
    2. Remove carriage and inspect rollers and rails for any damage.
